How to care for your floor:
DO’s
. Generally your new floor can be walked on the following the final coating.
. Avoid walking on it with shoes for the first 4 to 6 days depending on coating type and weather.
. Use door mates at front and back doors and protective floor felt on all furniture.
. Clean the floor once a week to prevent the build-up of grit and dirt on the surface .Clean more frequently in high traffic areas.
. Remove spills immediately and spot clean using Bona cleaner and soft cloth.
. Avoid creating indentations in the floor. Common causes include stiletto heels and pets claws.
. Avoid letting floor get to worn as a recoat can be applied over existing coat with just a light cut back instead of a full re sand if coating wears through.
DONT’S
. Never ‘wet mop’ you’re flooring. Too much water will cause your flooring to swell and un even.
. Do not use household cleaners or polishes on polyurethane finished floors. These may damage coating finish and make re – coating in the future cause issues.
